RUSSIANS IN SLOVAKIA
In the days 18th – 25th of June 2017, the group of Russian students participated in the exchange visit of Slovakia, which was organized by Grammar School of J. B. Magin. In cooperation with the Russian language lector Elena Rogova, Ph.D., this visit was prepared by Mgr. Milena Bobáňová.
The students had difficult but very interesting program – travelling throughout the Slovakia, during which the Russian students can get knowledge about natural, cultural and gastronomic wonders of Slovakia. They got to know Ochtinská Aragonitová Cave, Spiš Castle, folk architecture in Čičmany and Bardejov, they visited the historical cities of Košice, Bratislava, Bardejov, Prešov and they also made a visit of Bradlo.
On 20th of June 2017, students of Russian university and also the students of grammar school prepared short program, which introduced both Slavic cultures by dance and singing.
The program amazed the audience, among which were also the members of the city council headed by the Mayor of Vrbové Dott. Mgr. Emma Maggiová, as well as the deputy of Russian center for science and culture in Bratislava Anastázia Alexejevna Romačeva.
Students were welcomed by the short address of the headmaster of Grammar School of Ján Baltazár Magin - PaedDr. Ing. František Glos, PhD - and also by the speech of the head of the Russian delegation, the deputy of dean of faculty of foreign languages - Tatiana Nikolajevna Pozdniakova.
The mayor of Vrbové then welcomed a group of 22 students with their teacher from Voronež state pedagogical university in the representative places of Beňovský mansion, where she handed them over with memorial coin of Vrbové town.
Mr. Bosák provided students with interesting story of life of Móric Beňovský and also guided them through exposition areas while telling them about the history of the town.
Afterwards, students were invited for lunch in the areas of PVOD Kočín. They were heartily welcomed by the president Ing. Jozef Puvák, who introduced them the developing contingent.
The Mayor also did not neglect the Slavic hospitability and invited them on a ceremonial dinner, on which was each Russian student gifted by the publication introducing our region and their teacher took over the gift, the graphics from academic painter Igor Piačka, for the rector of the university.
Students were accommodated in families of Slovak students and they were satisfied, because they got to know the life of common Slovak family and tasted the cuisine. We thank to all who helped any way with the organization of this difficult event.
