In the school year 2013 we first participated in the Green School project. At that time It was led by Mgr. Pádejová and Mgr. Michalková. Since 2015, the management changed to Mgr. Oravcová and Mgr. Michalková. Green School project is aimed not only at improving the environment, but especially on saving energy and water in schools. The project involves several dozen creative students who responsibly allocated each other various tasks. We're trying to think environmentally and enterprises of different steps that lead to the goals we have set, thanks to Green School. Since the aim is saving water, we welcomed the Gymnasium art agency Amos. They organized an educational concert for our students dealing with the necessity of water on Earth, natural disasters causing water shortages in various parts of the world, the fact that water is more important than oil, and the potential of Slovakia's trade with drinking water. The concert was also about the connection of man and nature. In addition to the water, we started to treat the issue of waste separation and wanted to highlight the close connection of water pollution in nature, because if you touch one point, the entire network will unravel.

Ceremonial awarding of certificate and the flag of Green School
Our school was awarded the title of Green School on 5th October 2016. We would like to thank the organization team composed of our teachers Mgr. Mária Oravcová and Mgr. Andrea Michálková, as well as our students. The aim of this project was to establish the advanced system of separation of the school waste, to install lights saving an electricity, the reduction of water consumption. This was reached by the installation of new flushers in toilets and tap savers. The project was the great opportunity for our students to join collective work and mutual cooperation in environmental issues. It raised awareness of ecological behaviour in our school. After this ceremony we officialy became the Green School.
