About our school

We are the only bilingual grammar school in Trnava district having both English and Russian forms of study and our slogan is “Small school – Great things.”

These words reflect our pleasant, modern facilities and the many national and international projects in which our school not only participates in, but also receive positive feedback. One of these was the “Innovative school of the year 2022” prize. Our native-speaker teachers offer regular teambuilding language camps for first-year students prior to  beginning school to help them adapt easily. Moreover, students have the possibility to improve their communicative skills during international language stays abroad.

Our school does not only focus on learning foreign languages. Our main goal is to help students to develop independent, creative thinking and especially to apply theory to real life situations. This is possible by fruitful cooperation with science institutions, partner universities and many non-profit organizations. Our students are taught in block – form education in state of art laboratories, school exterior, aimed mostly at subjects related to natural science. Thanks to this integrating form of education, our students are well-prepared to go to universities to study natural sciences. Those more interested in the IT sector have the possibility to join the miniErasmus programmes at the Material- Technology departments of universities in Trnava and Bratislava. Our students are successful participants of SOČ, in which they come up with many outstanding social and scientific projects.

We offer two study programmes:

1. 7902 J 74 – grammar school– bilingual study (five year study)  in English language

The field is focused on studying in English. In the first year, students have 11 lessons of English from a total number of 31 lessons per week. In the second year, additional subjects in English include English and American Literature, Global Studies in English Language, Realia of English-speaking Countries, Economics etc.

Several subjects in English are taught in collaboration with foreign lecturers. In order to find out the eligibility for studying in a foreign language, specific skills are verified by entrance examination.

2. 7902 J 74 – grammar school– bilingual study (five year study)  in Russian language

This field is focused on studying in Russian. Knowledge of Russian language is not a condition in order to enrol for this type of study. In the first year, students have 12 lessons of Russian language from the total number of 32 lessons per week.                  

In the second year, there are additional subjects such as Russian Literature, Biology, Geography, Historical Overview of Russia, Art and Culture, which will be taught by experienced teachers from Slovakia and Russia. In order to find out the eligibility for studying in the foreign language, specific skills are verified by entrance examination.
